Get Involved with Your Local Branch

We are delighted that you have chosen to take the first steps in becoming involved with your local tax professionals by volunteering with the Branch Network.

The Branch Network has over 300 volunteers, our regional Ambassadors, playing a central role in helping the Institute and Association achieve our primary charitable aims.

Our community of volunteers across the UK, Channel Islands and beyond deliver a well-respected annual Branch Programme of events between September and June each year, which depends on the support of new volunteers to continue to run effectively.

What does being a branch volunteer mean for you?

As a branch volunteer, you will be the local face of the CIOT/ATT within the tax community which is an excellent way to raise your profile and a potential route into CIOT or ATT Council.

Being involved provides opportunities to exchange views and experiences with fellow tax professionals, further developing your personal and professional networks.

The Branch Committees are open to volunteers at any stage of their career and can offer opportunities so suit a range of skills and experience.

What do branch volunteers do?

Your local Branch Network committee is made up of a friendly volunteer group of CIOT and ATT members from your area, who

  • Promote the values of the Institute and Association to the wider public in accordance with our charitable objectives
  • Provide a core programme of Technical continuing professional development (CPD) to local branch members of the CIOT and ATT and members of the public
  • Build up good relations, on a local level, with other professional bodies, firms and other relevant 3rd parties
  • Provide an opportunity for members and non-members to meet other tax professionals and share technical issues
