Tax Awareness Week (9–13 March 2026) is an initiative designed to increase public understanding of tax obligations, highlight the benefits of using a qualified tax adviser, and showcase the wide range of careers in tax.
A big focus of the week was the people behind the profession and the many opportunities available in tax. Employees may be particularly interested in Day 4 content, which covered volunteering opportunities and careers in tax.
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the students, members, employers and organisations who supported Tax Awareness Week this year. It’s been fantastic to see so many of you using the supporter resources and sharing your own posts, stories and insights across social media. From highlighting careers in tax to encouraging people to debunking tax myths, your contributions have helped bring the campaign to life and extend its reach.

Day 1 – Why you need to be tax aware
The week began by focusing on the fundamentals of tax and why understanding it matters.

Day 2 – Debunking tax myths
Day two tackled some common misconceptions about tax and debunked them, providing clear explanations and practical guidance.

Day 3 – Understanding your taxes: resources and support
The third day highlighted the wide range of support and resources available to help people understand their tax responsibilities.

- Helpful video guides from ATT
These resources provide practical information and guidance for individuals looking to better understand their tax position.
Day 4 – Volunteering and careers in tax
Another focus of the week was the people behind the profession, and the many opportunities available in tax.

- Exploring careers in tax
We highlighted the different career paths available within the tax profession and the important role that tax professionals play in supporting education, outreach and public understanding.
Day 5 – The benefits of using a qualified tax adviser
The final theme of the week focuses on the value of professional advice and the benefits of working with a qualified tax adviser.

These guides help individuals and businesses understand what to look for when choosing an adviser and how professional support can help ensure tax matters are handled correctly.
