The ATT welcomes feedback from members who encounter issues with HMRC's systems or processes. Where possible, we aim to report such issues to HMRC to help them improve their systems and services.
It is not always possible to take action based on individual issues reported to us, but where more than one member reports the same issue, we can build a body of evidence that the problem encountered may be systemic rather than isolated. In addition, HMRC are better able to investigate issues where we can provide case studies using identifiers such as Unique Taxpayer Reference numbers or National Insurance Numbers.
Information required
The forms linked below specify the information required. As a minimum, when reporting issues please ensure you include:
- The tax regime and HMRC system/process in question
- A description of the issue, and whether it affects one client or several
- Client identifiers (having obtained consent to share with the ATT and with HMRC)
- Contact details in case we need further information (which may include screenshots or other evidence of the issue)
