Volunteering in schools: How your employees can make a difference

Tax impacts nearly every aspect of life, yet many students leave school with little understanding of what it is or why it matters. Helping young people build financial literacy and tax awareness isn’t just beneficial—it’s essential. Regardless of their future path, whether as employees, entrepreneurs, or even tax professionals, understanding tax equips them with the tools to make informed decisions throughout their life. They also may not realise that they have already paid tax themselves, even before they leave school.

How your team can help

Your employees can play a meaningful role in closing this knowledge gap, whether it’s through classroom presentations or conversations at careers fairs, your employees have the ability to make tax accessible, relatable and engaging. By sharing their experiences, they can:

  • Explain how tax supports everyday services and infrastructure.

  • Bust common myths and misconceptions.

  • Showcase the diverse and rewarding career paths available in the profession.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Encouraging your team to use their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) days for school outreach is a powerful way to give back. It supports local students, strengthens community ties, and highlights your organisation’s commitment to education and social value.
