Scottish Electronic Tax System (SETS) - Revenue Scotland Survey

18 August, 2026

As part of its review of the current Scottish Electronic Tax System (SETS) and the development of the third version of SETS, Revenue Scotland is seeking feedback from users of the current system. SETS is the online platform used to interact with Revenue Scotland and access services.

Revenue Scotland has developed a short survey for existing SETS users, including agents, representatives and taxpayers and have asked that we share this with our members. This will be of particular interest to those members who deal with Land and Buildings Transaction Tax. If you have clients who submit Scottish Aggregates Tax or Scottish Landfill Tax returns please feel free to share this link with them.

The survey seeks feedback on:

  • Current experiences of using SETS and any pain points
  • Priority areas for improvement
  • Views on potential future capabilities
  • Suggestions that may not yet be reflected in their thinking
  • Interest in taking part in future engagement and user research

Participants will also have the opportunity to express an interest in contributing further by taking part in interviews or workshops.

This is the first stage in the project and Revenue Scotland is keen to involve stakeholders throughout the process.
