  • Tuesday – Common Tax Myths & FAQs: Debunking prevalent tax misconceptions and answering frequently asked questions to clarify the tax process.
  • Wednesday – Resources & Support: Presenting the tools, guidance, and assistance available to individuals and businesses for tax filing and compliance.
  • Thursday – Volunteering in schools and careers in tax: Focusing on the material and videos we have on our website and encouraging volunteers to go into schools to talk about tax or a career in tax
  • Friday – The benefits of using a qualified tax adviser: Promoting the “find an ATT and CTA member” tool and the benefits of using a tax adviser

Graham Batty, ATT President, said:

“Tax isn't just forms and deadlines—it funds our schools, hospitals, and communities. Understanding your tax obligations means you're contributing fairly while making sure you're not paying more than you need to. During Tax Awareness Week we’ll also explore common misunderstandings, careers in tax and the importance of using a qualified agent.

"Whether you're an individual trying to understand your tax obligations or a small business preparing for the new tax year, this week is for you. Follow along and discover the resources that can help."

Nichola Ross Martin, CIOT President, added:

"Tax Awareness Week is a new initiative. It’s all about making sense of tax as it’s something that affects us all and dealing with our own taxes should not be confusing or stressful.

“The aim in creating a Tax Awareness Week is to educate and empower taxpayers. We want to give them a greater knowledge and understanding of taxes and to know what is expected of them and how they should interact with the tax system. During the week we will be directing taxpayers to different sources of information and advice.

“We're here to demystify tax, point people to trustworthy help, and show how the right advice can protect you and your finances.”
