New Tax Professionals: Researching a Tax Technical Query

Wednesday 22 June 2022 | 13:00 - 14:00 BST

The New Tax Professionals (NTP) committee is aimed at helping students or members of the ATT and/or CIOT who are in the first ten years of their career.  The committee host events such as development skills, networking, social events, technical and general interest topics that are particularly relevant to those in the early part of their career.

The NTP committee held a webinar on Wednesday 22 June with Jack Bonehill and Dilpreet Dhanoa on ''Researching a Tax Technical Query''.

This webinar focused on how to approach a tax technical query, the wide range of resources available to you in your research, and how to use these in your own work. We then took a deeper dive into tax tribunal cases, and how these cases can be useful in your tax research. This included a run through with a case study using the recent Quinn (London) Ltd v HMRC case.
