ATT Branch Representative

The role of the ATT Branch Representative is to:

  1. ensure that the particular needs of ATT members are taken into account when the branch programme is being developed. It is important that some of the CPD events planned by the branch cover compliance-based issues and other practical advice for those working at the coal face of tax advice.
  2. publicise the ATT Annual Tax Conferences and any other events organised by Head Office that are being held in your local area. You are very welcome to attend the Annual Tax Conferences that are held throughout the UK - this is a great networking opportunity. You may also request a short slot during the event to speak to delegates about your local branch. Please contact Jane Ashton regarding attending one of our conferences. Click here to find out more about the conferences.
  3. encourage members of CIOT to take up ATT membership. Please click here to find out more about ATT membership.
  4. keep a look out for new faces - please 'meet and greet' new members, particularly ATT members and make them feel welcome so they leave the meeting looking forward to the next one!

Help offered from the ATT

  1. Our three Technical Officers (Emma Rawson, Will Silsby and Helen Thornley) are happy to visit branches and talk about specific technical issues or give a general update on the work of the ATT technical team. Please contact the technical team to arrange this.
  2. One of the ATT Officers, Council members or Chief Executive would be happy to attend branch events - please contact Jane Ashton,  ATT Chief Executive, if you wish to arrange this.
  3. As the ATT representative, you can request to receive information relating to our technical activities - please contact our technical team to be added to our mailing list. Our Technical Officers are always happy to follow up with HMRC on systemic (as distinct from client-specific) matters within tax admin that are identified by ATT members.
  4. We also have various marketing materials which we can send you on request. This includes a presentation to promote joint membership of ATT/CIOT.
  5. We are always happy for you to feed back comments or your experiences as an ATT representative so that we can improve the support we give you in the future. If you have any comments or would like additional material we don't currently provide, please contact Jane Ashton.
