HMRC's online services planned maintenance work postponed

The maintenance work planned this weekend to upgrade HMRC’s online services has been postponed due to technical issues.

The message from HMRC states:

HMRC's online services planned maintenance work postponed

I wanted to let you know that we have decided to postpone this weekend's scheduled upgrade of our systems. I apologise if this causes you any inconvenience.

Whenever we undertake maintenance work we run rigorous tests in the days beforehand to make sure it will be successful.

The final checks were completed last night and we discovered that there was a problem and that part of the upgrade wouldn't have been complete by Monday morning.

Rather than risk the systems being down for longer than we had promised, and to minimise the impact on our customers, I decided that we should postpone the upgrade for now. This means that all our services will be running normally this weekend.

The upgrade will need to take place and I am working with my team to choose a date and approach that has the least impact on our customers.

As soon as we have set a new date for the upgrade we will let you know.

Yours sincerely
