HMRC have asked us to draw attention to their following notice about forthcoming Talking Points meetings

"HMRC's Talking Points meetings provide up to date information, guidance and tips, helping you to understand tax issues.

There are a limited number of meetings, so save your place now. You will have the chance to ask questions during the meeting.

Intellectual Property Office (IPO)

An Introduction to Design: In the fifth of our series, the IPO will give a brief overview on Intellectual Property and in this session will focus on design. This basic introduction will inform you on how to protect the appearance of your goods with design registration.

Agent Toolkits and you

Covering toolkit functionality and highlighting the benefits of using them to help reduce errors when completing your clients’ tax returns. We will be doing a live demonstration and seeking your feedback to aid the development of the service. Please be aware this meeting is to discuss the toolkits. We will not be able to answer technical tax questions.

VAT and Motoring Expenses

This meeting will cover the general rules that apply when reclaiming VAT on the purchase of cars and when hiring and leasing vehicles. We will briefly cover commercial vehicles, other motoring expenses and record keeping.

These interactive meetings will be run on the ‘CITRIX’ platform. The organiser will run through how to ask questions on the day.
