HMRC have asked us to draw attention to their following notice about forthcoming Talking Points meetings
"HMRC's Talking Points meetings provide up to date information, guidance and tips, helping you to understand tax issues.
There are a limited number of meetings, so save your place now. You will have the chance to ask questions during the meeting.
HMRC's experience of the transformation to new UK Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
This will provide an update from HMRC on what has been learned from entities applying new UK GAAP. It will explain how to avoid HMRC asking questions by making a clear disclosure.
Wednesday 31 May 11am to midday - Register now for this meeting
This will focus on basis periods, a subject that’s prominent around the self-assessment peaks. We will include an understanding of commencement years, changes to accounting date and overlapping periods.
An introduction to negligible value claims and share loss relief. We will be looking at certain conditions that must be met for your client’s to claim that an asset has become of negligible value.

An Introduction to Design: In the fifth of our series, the IPO will give a brief overview on Intellectual Property and in this session will focus on Design. This basic introduction will inform you on how to protect the appearance of your goods with design registration.
