Most HMRC Online services will be affected between 12 and 15 October 2012 due to a number of routine scheduled IT updates and planned maintenance work to their IT systems. The tax credit system will be unavailable from 7am Thursday 11 October until the start of business Monday 15 October 2012.

Please also note that due to a scheduled upgrade taxpayers will be unable to view or change their Direct Debit online between 22:00 on Wednesday and 06:00 on Friday 12 October.
HMRC’s Online Tax Registration Service (OTRS)
In addition, as reported on the CIOT website earlier this week HMRC have informed us that due to a forthcoming upgrade of the OTRS any incomplete registration applications must be submitted by 06.00 hours on 12 October 2012. Any applications not submitted by this date will not be retained, so data will need to be re-input. This will affect the SA, CT and PAYE online tax registration services.
There will be a recorded message for those who call during the downtime period but Contact Centre helplines will be open as usual. Advisers will not be able to access the tax credits computer system but will be available for general advice.
