HMRC issues FAQs document on UK Property Reporting Service

Further to a meeting with the Issues Overview Group in June, HMRC have issued an FAQ covering some of the issues that have arisen around the service.

This update follows on from the previous correspondence around the issues of off-setting in-year CGT payments made via a Property Return against other self-assessment liablities (see ATT news article The UK Property reporting service and its interaction with self-assessment from 28 June.)

The ATT have asked for further and more detailed guidance on the service (both how to use it and in relation to technical aspects) to be made available on GOV.UK (and/or HMRC manuals) and HMRC advise us that they are in the process of updating all the guidance on the UK Property Disposals service as well as exploring a longer-term resolution to the offsetting issue.

As and when we learn more, we will continue to update the ATT User Guide

Futher comments and feedback from members on issues and concerns about the UK Property Reporting Service are always welcome to atttechnical [at] att.org.uk (subject: UK%20Property%20Reporting%20Service%20)
