HMRC have asked us to draw attention to their following notice about forthcoming Talking Points meetings
"Here are the details of HMRC's Talking Points meetings for the next three weeks. They provide up to date information, guidance and tips, helping you to understand tax issues.
There are a limited number of spaces at the meetings, so save your place now
Construction Industry Scheme
This will provide a basic overview of CIS, including registration, gross payment status, deductions, record keeping, and repayments. We will also cover reporting, including how to correct errors on returns and common errors to avoid.
Tax Codes and What Is Changing
How we are changing the way we use information to calculate tax codes. Including how estimated pay, third party information and RTI data, will be influencing codes and the introduction of an In Year Adjustment.
HMRC Payment Strategy
This meeting will focus on reducing cheque payments and the elimination of payable orders.
Statutory Residence Test Split Year Treatment
We are running separate meetings over two days on this subject covering the different cases.
Cases 1-3: Actual or deemed departure from the UK.
