Key Dates and Deadlines

We run two exam sessions a year in May and November. You can see the key dates and deadlines for each of these sessions below.

May 2019

Student Registration

If you have not previously registered with the ATT or CIOT, then you would need to be registered as a student by Monday 31 December 2018. If you have previously held a registration with the ATT or CIOT and have re-registered or transferred, the student registration deadline would not apply. 

Exam Entry

All of our written exams are booked online here. You can see the deadlines for exam entry below. 

Standard Exam Entry Opening Date

Thursday 20 December 2019

Standard Exam Entry Closing Date

Thursday 28 February 2019

Late Exam Entry Opening Date

Friday 1 March 2019

Late Exam Entry Closing Date

Sunday 31 March 2019

Exam Focus and Skills Days

The Exam Focus and Skills Days will be taking place throughout March. More information on the dates, and how to book, can be found here.

Amending your exam entry

You are able to cancel and defer your exam booking once submitted. The full policy can be seen here.

Refund

You can request a refund of your exam entry up to fourteen days after your booking. A £15 administration fee will be charged per paper refunded.

Deferral

If you have entered during the normal exam entry period, you have until Thursday 14 March 2019 to request a deferral. 

If you have entered during the late exam entry period, you have until Sunday 14 April 2019 to request a deferral.

Extra Time and Alternative Arrangements

You have until Sunday 31 March 2019 to request extra time or alternative arrangements. You can see further information, and how to apply, here.

Candidate Information

Candidate information, confirming the address of your exam centre and your candidate number, will be emailed to you approximately two to three weeks before the exam dates.

The ATT examinations are held over 2 days:

 

Wednesday 8 May

Thursday 9 May

Morning

(10:00am -1:15pm)

Paper 1: Personal Taxation

Paper 3: Business Compliance; or

Paper 4: Corporate Taxation; or

Paper 5: Inheritance Tax, Trusts & Estates; or

Paper 6: VAT

Afternoon

(2:30pm - 5:45pm)

Paper 2: Business Taxation  

 

Special Considerations

You can request special considerations for the May 2019 exams up to Thursday 23 May 2019. More information on special considerations can be found here.

Exam Results

The exam results will be made available on Wednesday 24 July 2019. The pass lists, showing those who were successful in the session, will be posted on the website on the same day.

Recheck Deadline

You can request a recheck of your script, if you meet the criteria, or a marks breakdown following the exam session. The deadine to request a recheck is Tuesday 27 August 2019. Further information, including how to apply, can be found here.

November 2019
