Following the official launch of the ATT Level 4 Trailblazer Apprenticeship in October, we are pleased to provide further details on the End Point Assessment. Dates for the first sittings, and a sample paper, are now available - together with a set of frequently asked questions about Trailblazer Apprenticeships for employers.
The End Point Assessment
Once the apprentice has passed their ATT examinations, and been assessed as provisionally competent, they are ready to tackle their End Point Assessment (EPA). The EPA is a new element to apprenticeships, and consists of a role simulation and a portfolio of evidence.
Dates for the Role Simulation
Sittings for the role simulation will generally be held in March, June and December of each year. For 2018, assessments will be held in June and December, with the first sitting on 7 June 2018. Key dates for role simulations, including when registration opens for the June and December sittings, can be found here.
Sample Role Simulations
In advance of the first sitting, a sample role simulation exercise is now available which provides an example of:
• the tasks and additional information that the apprentice will be provided with on the day
• an example of the solution that the apprentice could provide
• a sample checklist showing how the apprentice will demonstrate their knowledge, skills and behaviours over the various elements of the simulation.
