Welcome from your Branch Chair, Adam Rollason
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our branch page, here you will find the details of our amazing committee members. It is these individuals who work tirelessly throughout the year to deliver the insightful programme of events which our members have become accustomed to in recent years.
The West Midlands Branch covers a vast area of central England, boasting members from no less than 5 separate counties. Whilst we tend to hold our events in Birmingham, we often welcome attendees from towns and cities across the region.
Having taken over as Chair in April 2023, my immediate plan is to reinvigorate the Branch to its former glory days, but to do this we are going to need to harness the support of our members. Covid-19 has undoubtedly had an impact on branch events, with many advisers turning to webinars for their CPD needs. However, we believe that there is still a place for face to face events, and we want to invite the top speakers in the UK to present to a room full of engaging and enthusiastic members. I recall events as recently as 2018, when the room had been set up for 50 attendees, and we had people standing at the back. This is where we need to return to by the end of 2023!
My personal view is that our Branch is an integral part of the membership experience, and we need to do a better job of embedding it into the local community. My longer term goal is to establish stronger links with both employers and education providers within the West Midlands region. If we can raise awareness of what we can do and secure their support, I have no doubt that the branch will continue to thrive for many years to come.
