HMRC seek help with making tax repayments easier

If your employees receive a “P800” letter telling them they’re due a tax repayment, they can earn a tax-free £50 voucher whilst learning more about the letter and helping HMRC improve its service delivery.

P800 letters are a tax calculation created by HMRC after comparing the amount of tax deducted from wages and pensions with the amount that was actually due for the tax year. HMRC is carrying out research into the experiences of people who have received them.

Often these calculations result in a repayment becoming due. HMRC are keen to hear from people who lack confidence, face barriers to using digital channels or just have little trust in HMRC services. HMRC’s aim is to use their feedback to build solutions which help people get their repayments more quickly and with minimal inconvenience.

There are two ways to get involved:

or

  • By calling 03000 513300 and quoting ‘P800 Repayments Research’.

Once signed up, a researcher will be in contact. If the individual is willing to take part in a face-to-face meeting then they could earn a £50 Love2Shop voucher as well as learning more about the letter they have received and HMRC’s digital services.
